KAFEL'S HISTORY

In 1965, nineteen year old guitarist Jack Kafel built his first amp
from an old radio. Guitar amps were not that easy to acquire in
communist controlled Poland. Jack continued his studies of electronics
from a local professor and began repairing amps from England and
America.
He continued to refine his own designs and out of necessity
learned how to build his own transformers. In 1970 he officially opened
Kafel Amps in Poland and continued production until 1989.
Jack and his family moved to Chicago and established an antique
restoration business . Old musician friends contacted him in  2003
and mentioned that their Kafel Amps still sounded great after 20 years
and wondered if Jack was still building amps. In 2004 the first US made
Kafel Amps came out of the back room of the antique business..
Hand built patent pending transformers, cabinets, point to point wiring
and custom options are some of the benefits of owning a Kafel Amp.
I wrote this history based on conversations with
Jack and his wife.
I purchased a Kafel and enjoyed the amp so much I offered to help get
the word out on these special amps. He truly enjoys the smiles he gets
from satisfied customers.
Sincerely,

Russ Reiser ( guitarist and ampaholic).

Hello Mr. Kafel. My name is Christian Dunn and I love playing the bass.  My friend Brian Budris recently purchased one of your amplifiers and I  think that both Brian and I agree that it is the best sounding  amplifier on the planet.  I was wondering if you could make a  vacuum tube bass amplifier that sounds just as beautiful.  I  really like the nasty tube overdrive sounds of players like Chris  Squire, but I also like the nice warm tube sounds of players like John  Paul Jones.  If you can make a bass amp, would it be possible to  give me an estimated price range on bass amp heads with different  wattages such as _ dollars for a 200 watt head and so on.

                                                                                         Christian Dunn
